Designing an Immersive Experience

Project Overview

The purpose of the ExxonMobil app for iPad is to provide the interested public with access to a wide range of ExxonMobil information, in one location, and serve as a platform where users can engage with interactive content created for enhanced versions of annual reports.


Information Architecture

Transitioning from a booklet to an app dictated horizontal navigation and the page layout allows the user to skim through all content at a high level and then drill down into their desired content.


Content Strategy

The initial request was to create an iPad app out of their annual reports. However, after extensive content analysis  we expanded the scope of the app to include video, interactive content, blog posts, and investment content.


Interaction Design

A lot of thought was put into how the user navigates from the home screen into each one of the content buckets. A unique movement was designed for each section when disappearing and reappearing.
